Fun with Gelatos and dylusions

I had great fun with all these wonderful colours, never use so many at one time but I know I will be using them again!!

Ink with me

Here is a little picture I did with distress inks and a stamp, tearing paper either side laying it down to keep the sides clean.

Fairy Belle Canvas...........DT For Seema Crafts.

This was made for the design team monthly challenge Seema places on her blog, She wanted it to be something you would give your Mum. This is actually part of a project I am actually doing for my Mum but this is just one part of it.
I will be making two other pictures to go with this so they can sit in my Mums front room.
I placed paste, Gesso and covered the canvas with paper by Prima fairy belle. I layered with Gelatos and Gesso, Dylusions, perfect pearls to give a shimmering look. I wanted it to look very pillow like so layered the paper inside the cut out heart in the middle. I cut 2 3" strips from a 12x12 sheet, made the paper wet and ruched it up to make like a pleating affect. glued them down before placing the top layer on with the heart. Finished off with pretty flowers and a verse from Prima Pixie Glen.
Why don't you pop on over to Seema's blog to check it out.

Mixed Media Jumbo Tag.

I bought some new stamps, wanted to play around with them and some I have never used before, I wanted to do something different from what I have been doing the last few weeks. I used black acrylic paint against thick cardboard. I went over it with a blue allowing it to dry before rubbing back to see the black peeking through.
The stamps came layer after layer with more paint with dylusions and tattered angel sprays. The odds and sods i put on are things I found in my stash, roses I sprayed to make them dark. I wanted this piece to look dark in many ways due to the words I put on.

A Hearts Desire Mixed Media Canvas

As its Valentines day I thought I would do a mixed media piece, I have not filmed this one but done a step by step picture tutorial this time. Once the Canvas was covered in Gesso I cut a polystyrene heart in half. Glued it to the canvas and covered it with Fluorescent acrylic paint mixed with PVA glue and glazing medium pouring it all over the hearts before sprinkling crushed up mirror glass and more PVA glue allowing it to run. I left the work over night to dry.

Canvas board was used for this work.
Here you can see an example of the Broken glass on the heart.

I have used Dylusion spray inks and water running down the canvas.
I have used black Stazon Ink through a stencil.
I have used the hot glue gun and ran glue all over the canvas, I also used white Acrylic paint to lighten the canvas up before adding finger splats and painted circles.

I have added words across the canvas in black felt letters, I layered more black dylusions so it would run down the canvas.
Here is a close up of the white paint over the broken glass, the paint has covered it in places but it still leaves a nice shine.
You can see the depth of colour and and different textures in this close up picture.

Sakura Dragon

I have drawn a Sakura Dragon for a member of the Dragonvale Gem Group on Facebook. It was a 300 member competition that I was running. I picked a name and Annette T won it, her choice was the Sakura Dragon or blossom dragon as we would know it. I loved drawing my take on what I think this dragon would really look like. Here are a few pictures and a Youtube video of me drawing it.

Mixed Media Digi Image by Seema Crafts

I have started to be on a Design Team for a Friends Group called The Friendly Crafter's on Facebook that I have been a Admin for some time now. The Group is a wonderful place full of like minded ladies that love to chat and show of what they have been making.

This little picture is very cute, which I have to admit isn't something I have really done before BUT I loved doing it and I think I will be pushing myself to do more pretty coloured things. I have not really used Digi images either and would have liked to have drawn them onto tissue paper or tracing paper so it didn't show up but I couldn't find any! I am not the most patient of people so went ahead and did it with paper.

I have much to learn and with every new project I do I see more I could have done better.

I have filmed the process so it can be seen on my YouTube channel.

Shadow Mini Album In Progress

This is what I have been working on so far, This is a 8" x 8" shadow box, the draw pulls out and I will be making a mini Album to go inside of it but i wanted to share my progress so far. This is a technique i went to a class for which had Andy Skinner in so I do not know that stands with telling you the full ins and outs of how it was done. I don't want to step on anyone's toes on how i came about learning it. I did add more to the Technique with adding Inka gold to finish it off, It really does look lovely and I cant wait to show you the finished product once the album is made, I have papered the inside of the box, using spray inks to give interest.

Tick Tock I Made A Clock!!

This is a Mixed Media piece I really enjoyed making, I wanted to add the clock element into the Canvas and thought it turned out pretty good in the end. The canvas is around 19"x 7", I used a sheet from the range Madame Payrauds for the first layer it has some lovely pictures on it, once i had glued that down i used washed out Gesso before adding more layers of paste to add texture. I used Stazon ink and stencilled cogs all over the canvas to give it depth, after that I gave another whit wash of Gesso before adding the cogs and ripping more of the sheet adding pictures of birds and patterns to give interest.

The cogs were cut of from a cameo, the card stock had texture paste put over them before drying. once that was dry I painted them black and rubbed over Inka gold. The Inka Gold was used over the entire picture in places and around the frame edge. Buttons added the finishing touches with some gold spray and black spray flicked here and there. I added some words in the bottom right hand side saying 'Time together inspire dreams for a lifetime of inspiration' These were taken from a Tim Holtz word book.

Busy Sketching

Here are some of my sketches I have been doing over the past few months. I do love drawing even if at times I find it very hard to do.
